Dr. Su-Wen Chang is a dentist with advanced training in TMJ disorders, orofacial pain, dental sleep medicine, and headache management. He focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of jaw pain, facial pain, bite-related dysfunction, bruxism, neuropathic pain, migraines, and sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea
Dr. Su-Wen Chang is a dentist with advanced training in TMJ disorders, orofacial pain, dental sleep medicine, and headache management. He focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of jaw pain, facial pain, bite-related dysfunction, bruxism, neuropathic pain, migraines, and sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea.
With more than 20 years of full-scope clinical experience, Dr. Chang combines comprehensive dental knowledge with advanced training in complex pain and sleep-related conditions. His background allows him to assess occlusion, jaw mechanics, airway, and craniofacial factors in a more integrated way, helping identify contributors to pain and dysfunction that may be missed in routine care.
Dr. Chang completed advanced postdoctoral training in Orofacial Pain at the University of Southern California and is currently completing further advanced training in Oral Medicine, Oral Radiology, and Oral Pathology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Oral and Systemic Health, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Headache Society.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Chang has served as faculty at the University of Southern California and Pima Community College and has published in peer-reviewed journals. He also participates in NIH-funded collaborative research related to temporomandibular disorders and remains actively involved in teaching, academic collaboration, and clinical research.
